The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer –Structural Analysis Toolkit to join the SW Resources team located in Ridley Park, PA or Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. 

This position focuses on providing a software tool framework and analysis applications to Engineers that work with the Mechanical Structural Design and Analysis for our products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
  • Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  • Works under minimal direction

This position is Hybrid and allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options - Ridley Park, PA or Berkeley, MO.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:  

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret  US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Intake

  • At least 3 years of experience working with Mechanical Structural Design and Analysis
  • More than 4 years of experience working with Software Development and Maintenance for Enterprise IT applications and frameworks

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Intake

  • Experience in leading and planning Software Development activities
  • Experience documenting Software Architecture or Software Designs

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel: - Not expected to be necessary 

Relocation:  

This position is located in Ridley Park, PA or Berkeley, MO and relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
