The Boeing Company is currently seeking a motivated Entry Level Cruise Missile Software Engineer to start a career in embedded real-time software.  In this position, you will develop, integrate, test, and deliver software solutions for the Cruise Missile Operational Flight Software team located in St. Charles, MO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The operational flight software is being updated to align with the expanding capabilities and functionality of the Harpoon and SLAM ER missiles.  The project has a broad and growing customer base of both international and domestic customers.  Engineers in this segment work in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test software solutions across multiple weapon configurations
  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers through the entire lifecycle of software
  • Coordinate with a multi-discipline engineering team on the delivery of a system
  • Gain knowledge with software architectures, platform/weapon interfaces, and communication protocols
  • Expand hands-on experience with integrating software onto hardware

Security Clearance Requirements

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain an Interim Secret US Security clearance (Pre-Start).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in a technical field of study such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with C, C++, C#, Python, Java, Ada
  • Experience with software development on Windows or Linux
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Jira, and git
  • Experience with real-time embedded software development

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel

Domestic and international travel to support customers may be required.

This position is a relocation opportunity to St. Charles, MO, based on candidate eligibility.
