Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join the Production Engineering team located in El Segundo, CA.    

Position Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate the implementation of capital projects that increase manufacturing capacity and capability.

• Assist in the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.

• Participate as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the integration of technical solutions.

• Work with others to lead the manufacturing readiness review process.

• Conduct hardware and build planning reviews.

• Resolve technical problems and assists in the implementation of new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

• Assist in the implementation of Lean principles and process control.

• Interface with professional associations, suppliers, IPTs and internal customers to develop robust manufacturing processes.

• Provide technical direction to shop floor technician regarding manufacturing methods and best practices.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post Start is required.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

• 1 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing or production engineering role.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

• 2+ years of experience working with space electronics or aerospace flight hardware

• 2+ years of experience using ERP/MRP to develop and release of work instructions and non-conformance dispositions

• 2+ years of experience using common six sigma tools such as control plans and process failure modes and effects analysis

• Experience working with satellite products, space flight hardware, or aerospace hardware

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
