Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced, Fatigue Engineer to join our F-15/T-7 Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) located at our Saint Louis site in Berkeley, MO.

This position will be on the Fatigue and Tracking team and will support both the F-15 and T-7 programs. ASIP efforts support current production line in-service structural issues for both US Air Force and Foreign Military programs. Team tasks include durability and damage tolerance analysis, Master Events Spectrum generation, fatigue allowables development, programming, 3D data visualization, probabilistic risk of failure, and tracking.

Position Responsibilities

  • Be a part of the BDS Aircraft Structural Integrity Program team

  • Develop location specific detailed breakout models using PATRAN/NASTRAN and StressCheck

  • Crack initiation and crack growth damage tolerance analysis using StressCheck and Lifeworks

  • Production support of nonconformance analysis using StressCheck and Lifeworks

  • Single flight probabilistic risk of failure risk analysis using PROF

  • Hotspot analysis and 3D data visualization of fleet findings using nLign

  • Aircraft fleet tracking using an internally coded system that collects flight data recorder usage data to determine inspection needs (C++/SQL/Java)

  • Full scale fatigue test finding match analysis using StressCheck and Lifeworks

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • Experience performing fatigue analysis

  • Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • U.S. Secret Clearance

  • Knowledge and experience with fleet sustainment

  • 3+ years of experience performing fatigue tracking

  • Experience in a military or commercial aircraft environment.

  • Experience with Life Works

  • Experience with Spectrum Generation

  • Fatigue Testing Experience

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
