The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Specialist to join the team in Seattle, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads audits and assessments of complex supplier's systems, processes and products

  • Documents and reports audit and assessment results

  • Delegates product acceptance responsibility to suppliers

  • Assesses capability and capacity of suppliers to perform current or potential future work

  • Provides education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives

  • Develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5 + years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

  • 5 + years of experience in quality inspection and/or auditing

  • 5+ years or experience with Quality Systems in the Aviation industry

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment

  • 3 + years of experience in root cause analysis and corrective action

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers

  • Strong communication & presentation skills

  • Possess a valid Driver's License

  • Have the use of a personal vehicle to travel for business reasons to meet suppliers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering or science related field

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders

  • Experience performing process or quality system audits

  • Experience using Boeing Problem Solving Model

  • Experience working the management of suppliers and leading process improvements

  • Strong technical background

  • Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of acceptable preventative action

  • Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as FMEA, control plans, SPC and MSA

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management best practices and processes

  • Practical experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning APQP and PPAP Deliverable review

  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with Aviation, Space and Defense products

  • Training/Coaching experience

  • Practical experience with Digital Product Definition and Model Based Definition approvals / interrogation

  • Familiarity with ISO-9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9145, AS9146, and AS9115

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
