Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Shaper Operator to join our team in Everett, WA!

Machine operators in this position completely and independently set up, operate, and adjust all types of power metal shears to perform straight and/or angular shearing of any size sheet metals, metal parts, and other materials to specified dimensions and configurations. Check own set ups and work to be certain finished parts meet quality requirements and specifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Layout cutting lines on materials to be cut, obtaining measurements and other related information from prints, changes, sketches and verbal information.
  • Set up, operate and adjust assigned Do-all type saws to saw, file, slot, miter, contour, etc., flat formed, extruded sections and parts.
  • Set up and operate assigned spindle shaper or pin router when adequate fixtures are available.
  • Make stationary setups according to instructions and operate assigned spindle shaper or pin router after setup and first part has been checked.
  • Perform any type cutting operations the machines are, or may be, adapted to perform.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience using basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Fluent in both verbal and written English
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Able to work 2nd shift & extended hours with short notice if needed to cover absences or adjoining shifts.

Typical Education:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:

This position is for 2nd shift.
