Position Description: 

Boeing Global Services is looking for an experienced Flight Manual Author to join our Learning & Technical Data Solutions team. In this role you will support multiple commercial derivative military aircraft (P-8, VC25) in the development of Flight Crew Operations Manuals (FCOMs) for new and existing customers.

This position is located in USA - Tukwila, WA

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:   

  • Leads activities to define, document and maintain multiple flight crew operations procedures, task lists, operations manuals, checklists, and the software/data.
  • Leads the development and delivery of flight crew training.
  • Provides critical on-site assistance and coordination with airline/military personnel to resolve flight crew operations issues.
  • Provides consultation related to in-flight emergencies and accidents. Leads conversion of engineering data for use by flight crews.
  • Consults and advises customer on various publishing systems and digital data formats. Obtains regulatory authority certification/approval of operation and engineering documents.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): 

  •     At least 3 years’ experience authoring Flight Crew Operations Manuals

Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • Experience working with FAST-doc

Typical Education/Experience:  Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:  Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:  This is a 1st shift position
