The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer (Level 2), in Huntington Beach, CA.  We are redefining the art of the possible, using the power of autonomy. Join our Boeing team to help be part of this emerging technology.  Maritime Undersea (MU) is a growing business focused on delivering complex solutions from seabed to space! As a MU Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer, you will be part of a bi-costal Electrical Capabilities team delivering the best solutions for today’s complex undersea engineering challenges.  Our products range from unique Integrated Mission solutions to highly capable Autonomous Extra-Large Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (XLUUVs). 

As a Design and Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for developing engineering solutions for electronic components and systems including both enhancing existing field units with the addition of new capabilities as well as architecting completely new systems.  In this role you will be joining a cross-functional team to progress our products through the development lifecycle.  You will have opportunities to collaborate with the Chief Engineer, technical experts, and our customers, as well as provide technical support to suppliers. The day-to-day activities of this position will be a combination of traditional design engineering, collaborating with cross-functional peers, leading and mentoring others, presenting technical challenges and solutions to leadership, and Technical Supplier Management (TSM). 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain detailed requirements and specifications for various electronic products

  • Develop detailed designs and conduct various methods of testing and analysis to support

  • Provide technical support for fabrication and test of production-level electronics

  • Conduct trade studies and literature research to support future product designs

This position requires an ability to obtain active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation and SCI/SSBI eligibility post-start. An interim and/or final U.S. top secret clearance Post Start is required. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Experience applying knowledge of analog, power, and/or digital circuit design principles (e.g., frequency, voltage, thermal, bandwidth, mismatch) to design, simulate and layout circuit boards.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or other related technical field.

  • Experience in circuit board design and analysis using Mentor Graphics, OrCAD for schematic capture, and Pspice or equivalent for circuit analysis.

  • Knowledge of electrical test, planning, procedures, equipment and validation of system designs to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

  • Experience analyzing problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products using knowledge of engineering disciplines

  • Team experience (Agile work environment, formal technical presentations, formal customer presentations).

  • Experience with Engineering Release process (including conceptual design, drawing review and approval).

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
