The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Quality Systems Specialist to join the GMD Production Maintenance & Test QA group located in Fort Greely, AK.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviews contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development.
  • Prepares and maintains Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed.
  • Conducts MRB investigations and analyzes process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of problems.
  • Participates with stakeholders to develop and execute real time or potential preventive or corrective actions  and solutions for implementation.
  • Conducts hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, engineering drawings, related business, regulatory and customer requirements and reports results to management.
  • Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment.
  • Works under general direction.
  • Conducts face-to-face discussions or meetings with the customers and with engineering.
  • Read drawing and apply to work tasks to ensure configuration management is met.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Quality organization or working directly with a Quality organization to provide products or services.
  • 1+ years of experience with Work Order or Non Conformance tracking systems (e.g. Manufacturing Enterprise Systems (MES or MMICS), System Application Processes (SAP), etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, travel in a silo basket (Maximum load capacity of 275 lbs.), work in confined spaces and work in and around ordnance.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications.
  • Experience analyzing data and generating metrics reports.
  • Experience with gathering data and performing Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
  • Experience in problem solving and improvement projects.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10 % of the time.
