Provides numerical control, machining and programming technical experience. Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility. Plans, creates, verifies and revises Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies for departmental work. Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment. Works under general direction.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • The Numerical Control Quality Assurance (NCQA) Programmer will plan, create and revise 3D Inspection plans for Laser Trackers, Photogrammetry, Scanners and potentially Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs).
  • Create Authoritive 3D Inspection Models which are derived from one or more of the following; Released 3D Engineering Data in CATIA V5, 2D Legacy Dimensioned Drawings, 2D and 3D Loft Data, and Reverse Engineered Master Tools.
  • Develop Flat Pattern Inspection Media from 3D CATIA Models
  • Create Inspection Reports for Production Documentation, Non-Conformance Documents and Management Visibility

Candidate must be able to understand the customers’ needs, work on cross-functional teams and use their knowledge of the manufacturing and quality system to support and resolve technical issues

Work Authorization Statement: 

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

 Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 

  • Must have the capability to work independently under limited supervision in 3D CAD/CAM environment and possess strong teaming skills
  • 10 years of experience using CATIA V5 having achieved intermediate to advance skill level
  • Previous metrology experience including application of GD&T
  • 10 years of experience using MS Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with 3DM Systems such as Spatial Analyzer, PolyWorks, GOM
  • Experience analyzing measurement data in discrete point and point cloud formats
  • Coding skills creating Scripts for Measurement and Analysis Automation
  • Works well with others in an environment that can have high expectations and tight deadlines

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
