Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Test & Evaluation Engineer to join us as part of our Secure Computing Solutions (SCS) team located in Pleasanton, CA.  

The Boeing SCS organization supports a diverse portfolio of programs for the Department of Defense.  The team is responsible for Integrated Circuits, Circuit boards, embedded software, electronic boxes and test equipment designed to meet the secure computing requirements of the program. As part of the SCS Applied Solutions team, the candidate will play a key role in delivering product to a diverse set of Boeing platforms being used around the world.  This position will provide the candidate an opportunity to further develop engineering skills with potential growth into a leadership role. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for testers which support the manufacture and delivery of electronic system products, including conceptual design, Circuit design, Schematic capture, board layout, and tester construction.
  • Analyze and translate system requirements into test architectures, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
  • Develop design verification code and functional acceptance test code for complex embedded systems
  • Facilitate parts acquisition and construction of product testers
  • Test and validate to ensure tester designs meet operational and functional system requirements
  • Support fielded hardware and software testers over the entire product lifecycle
  • Assists in development of electronic architecture and detailed specifications for various electronic products related to production strategies.
  • Conducts various methods of testing and analysis to qualify designs
  • Gathers data for technical performance measures
  • Assists in providing engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
  • Work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple projects concurrently and working with geographically disperse teams
  • Manage calibration schedules on test equipment
  • Manage inventory of fielded and in-house testers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Domestic travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree
  • 1+ years of experience with electrical systems, including testing and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience with software development on Windows or Linux
  • Experience working in development of test systems
  • Experience with C++ design, coding and test
  • Experience developing EMI qualification test procedures and reports as well as supporting qualification testing in an EMI laboratory
  • Experience in environmental qualification testing

Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
