The Boeing Missile and Weapon Systems (MWS) business in St. Charles is booming!  Boeing Cruise Missile Systems (CMS) is in need of an Associate Software Engineer to join the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Simulation team in St. Charles, MO. 

This dynamic team is made up of hardware and software engineers supporting SLAM ER and Harpoon IIU development, test, and delivery.  They also support a large catalog of legacy CMS programs as needed.

The CMS HIL/SIL team is critical to the success of multiple programs by creating, integrating, maintaining, and supporting hardware and software simulation models used in missile hardware/software development, integration, formal testing, and field support. These simulations include the missile operational flight plan (OFP) along with the missile physical and electronic operational environment and launch system.  These simulated components are used with selected elements of real hardware to ensure that Boeing’s weapon products are delivered on-time, on-budget, with first-time quality.

Position Responsibilities: may include but are not limited to the following

  • Developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

  • Developing and maintaining code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

  • Developing software verification plans, test procedures and test environments

  • Executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

  • Performing software project management and software supplier management functions

  • Developing, selecting, tailoring, and deploying software processes, tools and metrics

  • Executes and documents software research and development projects

  • Serving as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

  • Tracking and evaluating software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards

  • Work under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (St. Charles, MO)

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Required Qualifications: (Required Skills/ Experience)

  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret US Security clearance (Pre-Start)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree

  • 2 years or more of experience with software development

  • Proficient in either C, C++, or C#

Preferred Qualifications: (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience with software to hardware interfaces

  • Experience with simulations

  • Hands on experience with hardware and/or networks

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter

  • Work well with cross-functional teams

  • Able to work well in a group setting as well as independently as required

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel:

Domestic and international travel to support customers may be required.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.  Relocation opportunity to St. Charles, MO.
