Job Description

Boeing and NASA are building the world’s largest rocket for human exploration of deep space. The Space Launch System (SLS) provides a critical heavy-lift capability, powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions. Boeing is the prime contractor for design, development, test and production of the massive core stage and avionics development.

This Mid-Level Production Coordinator position is with the Boeing Exploration Launch Systems and will support production of the NASA SLS Core Stage and is based at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Processes and moves production and other materials into and out of storage, production and other locations to support complex production and product support activities, flight test, etc.
  • Monitors and analyzes work in process.
  • Updates status of parts and materials using automated systems.
  • Identifies and reports problems and recommendations to insure parts availability.
  • Analyzes problems and resolves or reconciles discrepancies with parts and materials to maintain inventory and system accuracy.
  • Coordinates with various functions to set priorities, expedite and complete production activities to avoid schedule delays.
  • Works under limited supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Candidates must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.

This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • More than 3 year of experience in the materials planning or inventory control process role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift.
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb and descend stairs, bend and lift items, package materials and unload materials from containers frequently throughout the shift
  • Experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working in a computer based inventory management system or warehouse management system.
  • Experience working on NASA programs.
  • Experience in supply chain concepts and best-practices.

Typical Education/Experience:

High School diploma/GED and typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Education (e.g. Vocational, Associate, Bachelor, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.

Summary pay range: $46,750 - $64,350
