Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a Lead Product Security Engineer to serve as a technical lead of a team of Platform Product Security Engineers (PSEs) for the Aircraft Modernization and Maintenance (AMM).

The Product Security (Cyber) team provides cybersecurity expertise, architectures, requirements, processes and tools to protect our platforms in the AMM portfolio, including B-1, B-52, B-52 CERP, US AWACS, Saudi AWACS, Japan AWACS, UK AEWC, Australia Phase 6, US E7A, Korea AEWC, SAOC, E4B, C-32/C-40, VC-25A, KC-135, C-17 and India ET. The team is active in shaping product security requirements with industry and government partners - anticipating needs, and integrating best-in-industry solutions.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • With the focus on Platform Cyber Security, this position will serve as a leader in analysis of requirements, risk management, and avionics systems. As such, this is an engineering role, and not an IT role.

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and Boeing processes.

  • Leads the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle.

  • Leads the development and enhancement of system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements.

  • Ensures security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used for product: design, development, build, test, storage, delivery, operations, and support.

  • Leads the definition and identification of product security requirements for suppliers of components and subsystems for integration into complex Boeing products and services.

  • Leads coordination with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry to identify risks and improve industry and regulatory security standards and requirements for programs and interfacing systems.

  • Leads research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions.

  • Leads the advisement of customers on maintaining product security and certification, including security consequences of modifying products and services.

  • Leads the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle.

  • Leads the development and enhancement of system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements.

  • Ensures security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used for product: design, development, build, test, storage, delivery, operations, and support.

  • Leads the definition and identification of product security requirements for suppliers of components and subsystems for integration into complex Boeing products and services.

  • Leads coordination with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry to identify risks and improve industry and regulatory security standards and requirements for programs and interfacing systems.

  • Leads research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions.

  • Leads the advisement of customers on maintaining product security and certification, including security consequences of modifying products and services.

  • Build deep relationships with product and engineering leaders

  • Drive security risk decisions, initiatives, and influence technical architecture

  • Champion security in product strategy and roadmap development meetings

  • Act as the primary liaison between the product security engineering team and other functional teams

  • Top candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be honest and transparent with employees, create an engaging culture and maintain high ethical standards while delivering results.

  • This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to address emerging acquisition requirements, and knowledge of the DoD policies and requirements related to Cyber Security are a plus.

Work Schedule:

This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and aligns to the standard 9/80 work schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows employees to work a nine-hour shift Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off.

Telecommuting:

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: 

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.  A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.  This position requires a pre-start clearance of interim secret or higher and a post-start top secret clearance requirement. Must be eligible and willing to be submitted for additional clearances.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science in an Engineering or other Technical Field

  • 7+ years of experience working in at least one engineering field for large or small-scale systems

  • Security+ Certification or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP or equivalent certification

  • Knowledge of DoD policies and requirements related to Cyber Security

  • 10+ years of experience in the field of cyber security, anti-tamper and/or secure computing

  • 8+ years of experience in working with suppliers, developing statement-of-work and technical performance specifications

  • 5+ years of experience with Program Management Best Practices

  • Understanding DoD contracting, developing proposals, and the Boeing estimating process

  • 10+ year of systems engineering management experience

  • 3+ years of Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive schedules

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
