Boeing Global Services is currently seeking to hire Senior Project Engineers with interest, knowledge, and/or experience in the areas of engineering Product Management, Product Owner or Project Lead to join Government Training Systems and Services (GTS&S) in Hazelwood, MO

GTS&S is responsible for designing, developing, building, integrating, delivering and upgrading flight and maintenance training solutions for the warfighter around the world. The simulators developed are not off the shelf video games but are high fidelity, tech heavy, fully immersive training machines that allow the warfighter to maintain their mission readiness in their pursuit to defend freedom around the world. GTS&S supports multiple aircraft and rotor-craft platforms, including the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, the P-8 Poseidon anti-surface/submarine warfare aircraft, the F-15, F-18, and F-22 tactical aircraft, the MQ-25 Stingray aerial refueling drone, the T-7 jet trainer, KC-46 Tanker aircraft and the C-17 Globemaster responsible for decades of military and humanitarian efforts.

The candidate will provide Engineering leadership to teams representing multiple skill areas, working with program management, leadership, customers, subject matter experts, and engineering teams. Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers and engineering stakeholders to define requirements for training system solutions

  • Support the development and negotiation of new proposals including the development and documentation of planned technical approaches

  • Lead technical execution of projects to complete the work statement and identify performance metrics

  • Manage supplier interfaces and support Supplier Management in the coordination and oversight of key suppliers

  • Develop supplier/subcontract strategies, including performance improvement & cost reduction initiatives to create a high performing supply base

  • Help drive program level continuous improvement

  • Lead teams of engineers in the planning, organizing, and execution of tasks through an Agile framework

  • Plan, identify, prioritize, and coordinate resources required over the life of the program that requires coordination with multiple scrum teams, external resources, and customers

  • Work cross-functionally with program, engineering and business stakeholders to coordinate requirements, understand dependencies, and ensure that the product(s) deliver value

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree

  • 3+ years' experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

  • 3+ years' experience in engineering project planning or project management

  • Experience working in an Agile and Scrum team environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in training systems

  • Risk management experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Project

  • Experience with software development and integration

  • Experience providing technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of products

  • The ability to lead proposal development efforts and prepare basis of estimates along with support documentation. Provide technical leadership to a team of proposal and supplier engineers

  • Support internal, customer, and supplier program reviews

  • Experience developing and tracking program plans/schedules and budgets for technical projects

  • Proficient with Excel, Word, & PowerPoint

  • Cost account management and/or earned value management experience

Typical Education & Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
