The Boeing Space Launch System (SLS) team is seeking an experienced Operations Program Analyst to join the team at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, LA.

The successful candidate will improve and manage SLS tooling readiness, ensure compliance to tooling requirements, preventive maintenance plan, and facilitate tooling process improvement.


Boeing and NASA are building the world’s largest rocket for human exploration of deep space.  The Space Launch System (SLS) provides a critical heavy-lift capability, powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of program tooling schedule and/or tooling plans, etc.

  • Coordinates with affected organization regarding impact to the company and tooling deliveries. 

  • Identifies long lead tools and activities, special tooling and technology changes.

  • Analyzes data to make recommendations that drive decisions for projects or processes.

  • Supports business unit level operating plans.

  • Provides analysis of production rates and tooling development initiatives.

  • Performs production tooling proposal activities.

  • Participates on cross-functional teams and identifies producibility issues to maximize efficiency.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience working in or supporting engineering

  • 1 or more year of experience with project management

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

  • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or production environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience working with project scheduling tools

  • 1+ years of experience working with tooling

  • 3+ years of experience with Lean Manufacturing, problem solving and process improvement

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.)
