The Boeing Test & Evaluation team is looking for an Entry Level Test & Evaluation Engineer to support the NASA Space Launch System Core Stage/Exploration Upper Stage production based at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA and including an expansion of test scope to Kennedy Space Center in Titusville, FL.

Boeing is seeking engineers that have interest in testing production component assemblies with emphasis on electrical/avionics systems and/or fluid dynamics/propulsion systems. Candidates will support the factory floor throughout all stages of production to ensure successful build and test of the core stage assemblies. Specific roles may include tasks such as conducting functional tests of subsystem and system assemblies as well as in-process leak testing of propulsion systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in gathering and analyzing requirements for test measurement systems.  
  • Assists in the development of test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition to perform the test within the constraints of the test plan.
  • Develops solutions to calibration systems problems.
  • Performs data analysis, develops and utilizes data processing tools.
  • Designs simple component level hardware or software.
  • Uses analytical tools to verify the design.
  • Verifies collection of complete data set.
  • Maintains test logs, prepares simple test reports and archives data.
  • Works under direct supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics and chemistry by June 2022
  • Familiarity with Avionics/Electrical Systems and Design and/or Fluid Dynamics/Propulsion Systems and Design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiarity with XML and Linux
  • Experience with pressurized components or systems
  • Experience with Avionics Databus and RF systems
  • Experiencee with using MS Office suite of programs
  • Experience coducting tests in a lab or production environment
  • Experience in test display development

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
