The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join the Virtual Warfare Center team located in St Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The Test Team maintains the overall quality of the VWC toolset. This position requires thinking through multiple non-happy-path data conditions and a desire to dig deep into our codebase to pinpoint problems and suggest solutions. Working on the VWC Test Team provides an excellent opportunity to work with multiple software teams and witness different approaches and workflows in software engineering at Boeing.

Position Responsibilities:

In this role, the candidate will perform a diverse set of activities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Verification of new functionality, providing the formal "Ok" to close out development tickets
  • Execution of "Customer Scale" Regression tests
  • Developing new testing procedures
  • Collaborating with Software Development and IT teams
  • Testing automation

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final US Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Possess a Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study
  • 1+ years' experience working in a software engineering environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • JIRA
  • CI/CD Technologies, such as Jenkins
  • C, C++, Java, or similar languages
  • GitLab
  • Python, Bash, PowerShell

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master)
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
