The Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division, is seeking a Senior GPS Telemetry, Tracking and Communication (TT&C) Systems Engineer Support Analyst (Level 4) to support the Global Positioning System (GPS) sustainment program located at Schriever Air Force Base, approximately 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO. The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. GPS is a satellite-based radio-navigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force. GPS is the world's largest military satellite constellation and is the world's only global utility. It provides position, navigation, and timing data to military and civilian users globally with countless applications and an unlimited number of users. In addition, we work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.  Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.  Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Overview:

The Senior GPS TT&C Systems Engineer Support Analyst will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to serve as the subject matter expert for the TT&C subsystem on the GPS Block IIF satellites and for GPS performance trending and analysis. This role will work closely with the spacecraft NAV and secondary payload subject matter experts. This position will support day to day interaction with the U.S. Space Force’s 2d Space Operations Squadron personnel performing commanding of the satellites and satellite performance trending and analysis.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides real-time support to on-orbit GPS TT&C subsystem and satellite operations, including investigation of and resolution of satellite anomalies.

  • Performs GPS TT&C subsystem trending and analysis.

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

  • Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

  • Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.

  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.

  • Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

Work Authorization:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, the Global Positioning System.

  • Experience in data analysis, trending, and reporting.

  • Experience in satellite operations.

  • Experience in customer service.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. security clearance; secret or above.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, telemetry analysis and trending.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, anomaly resolution.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, satellite control interfaces.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, on-orbit satellite reprogramming.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, C#, Java, SQL, MATLAB, and Visual Studio.net framework

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Colorado summary pay range: Min: $94,000 – Max: $168,000.
