The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Mid-Level Training Systems Integration Engineer to join their team in Richardson, TX

This position will focus on providing integration, checkout, and maintenance support for the P-8A AAS Training Systems development and sustainment contracts. The candidate will be focused on daily troubleshooting of the training devices, to include working at the operating system and lower application levels, as well as integrating new software builds and supporting installations of additional devices. The candidate will support both local development as well as remote installations.

This position will primarily operate in a lab environment, integrating hardware and software products in support of fleet training activities. The team supports products and activities across the entire product development lifecycle, and there will be opportunities to cross train with counterparts at other sites in order to enable technical growth and continued learning. The candidate will also have the opportunity to interface directly with customers and end users, present at design reviews and to senior leadership, and make an impact at a program level.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work on an integrated team of software, hardware, and systems engineers to develop, troubleshoot, and test P-8A training systems & lab products

  • Focus on the lower level system architecture & design, integrating applications and installing hardware, software, and firmware

  • Help identify root cause of system defects, software bugs, and integration issues

  • Troubleshoot and test software builds to confirm successful implementation of new features and full resolution of software defects

  • Develop and maintain documentation to configure and install integrated hardware/software systems

  • Install, configure, and maintain multi-platform systems hardware, software, and components

  • Provide on-site/in-person hardware and systems support, troubleshooting, and configuration

  • Partner with the Information Assurance and System Security Engineering teams to ensure cyber compliance of all labs and devices

  • Evaluate and effectively communicate complex system problems and resolution

  • Troubleshoot training system software, operating system, and installation problems

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry or other technical degree

  • DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)

  • 1+ years or more experience with Red Hat 5.9 or above

  • Experience with systems engineering and integration of complex systems

  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time domestically (intermittent for remote installations)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

  • 1+ years or more experience with classified network architecture and designs

  • Linux and/or Windows Operating System certifications (e.g. CCNA, Red Hat Linux+, Windows Server 2016, etc.)

  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Windows Server

  • Experience with network and switch configuration management

  • Experience writing scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
