Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Experienced Field Service Representative to support the P-8A Poseidon at Ohakea, New Zealand supporting the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is for a U.S. expat Field Service Representative (FSR) to support the new P-8A operating base at Royal New Zealand Air Force Base Ohakea, located 150 kilometers north of Wellington, New Zealand. The selected candidate will remain a U.S. expat and report to a U.S. based Boeing Global Services Manager.

  • Responsibilities include assisting with fault isolation, repair assistance and O-Level maintenance of P-8A aircraft systems, mission system equipment, airframe, and engines.

  • The FSRs must be capable of interpreting technical documents and possess the ability to respond to operational issues in addition to being knowledgeable in the maintenance of both aircraft and mission systems.

  • Conducting on-the-job and informal training for RNZAF Maintainers and locally contracted employees is also included in the position responsibilities.

  • The FSRs will be expected to be available during normal base working hours and also during off-shifts to address emergency / Aircraft of Ground (AOG) situations.

This is a long-term international assignment. The selected candidates should anticipate being in-country for 2-3 years after initial familiarization training and visa processing. Expect possible short term assignments (6-7 months) to Seattle, WA.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on flight line maintenance experience supporting the P-8 or 737NG.

  • A current/active United States Passport

  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

           

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently hold or have held an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license

  • Currently hold or have held an FCC Radio Telephone license.

  • Prior experience as an FSR supporting an aircraft weapon system

  • Hands-on aircraft experience with the P-3 or P-8 aircraft operations or sustainment

  • P-8 mission systems and operations expertise

  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance and parts manuals & engineering drawings, especially wiring diagrams

  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and avionics problems/issues

  • Quality Assurance experience in an aircraft maintenance or production environment

  • Experience working with the US Navy/Foreign Military

  • Experience establishing a new operating base or site while working in austere conditions

  • Ability to work independently without direct oversight

  • Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.

  • Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation to the Ohakea, New Zealand area based on candidate eligibility. Candidates will NOT be relocated to the Tukwila, Washington home base.
