Boeing Global Services BGS is seeking a Flight Planning and Dispatch Portfolio Operations Lead position can be located in Englewood, CO, Bellevue, WA, Chicago, IL, Everett, WA, Houston, TX, Mesa, AZ, Plano, TX, Renton, WA, Seattle, WA

In this role the Flight Planning and Dispatch Portfolio Operations lead will partner with the Portfolio Leader to execute the portfolio vision and strategy. This critical role provides business leadership and guidance to a globally dispersed Integrated Product Team to champion customer needs, drive market and customer research, define and communicate product roadmaps, manage the product portfolio by monitoring key performance indicators, and deliver our products to aviation customers around the world. The Portfolio Operations lead will establish and drive strategic projects that help to improve financial return, eliminate inefficiencies and accelerate innovation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of the strategic roadmap for the Flight Planning and Dispatch Portfolio. Ensure that projects, processes, and practices are properly aligned to serve a global customer base and achieve short-term and long-term business goals.
  • Identifies key portfolio level horizontal and vertical integration interfaces between major activities, teams, suppliers, partners and customers.
  • Help to prepare and drive adherence to the Flight Planning and Dispatch portfolio business plans and budgets.
  • Establish processes that provide oversight to commercial, operational, and financial performance, including progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish herself/himself as the execution lead for the Flight Planning and Dispatch portfolio and ensure that the Integrated Product Leadership Team is engaged and aligned.
  • Partners closely with sales, marketing, product management, software development, business development, customer success, strategy, and finance to sustain the existing portfolio and deliver innovative new products to the market. 
  • Gain a deep understanding and familiarity with the various offerings within the Flight Planning and Dispatch portfolio and coordinate the identification and management of Risks, Issues and Opportunities.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to implement recommendations based on business impact and technical feasibility; leads cross-functional efforts to optimize and measure the business impact of recommended changes.
  • Develops and executes integrated portfolio level plans and procedures and provides input on business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Requires independent thinking and professional judgment to identify, analyze and solve problems.

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at the listed location option.  

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with project or program management, and/or Business Operations.
  • 3+ years of experience with Portfolio or Product Management.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Product Development Lifecycle Management experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with Agile Software Development teams
  • Knowledge of airline operations requirements and/or pain points appreciated
  • Experience presenting and communicating ideas to external customers and key stakeholders across businesses
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and team skills

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor’s) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master’s) and typically 12 or more years’ related work experience; 18 years related work experience.
