Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Phantom Works Division has a great opportunity for a Proprietary Program Experienced Systems Engineer in St. Louis, MO.

This position will be responsible helping drive the program systems engineering effort and be a leader on the team tasked with owning overall system definition and design.  Key aspects of this work will include developing use cases, functional decompositions, CONOPS, and requirements, and then linking them all together in the MBSE tool suite.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Own the development of system functions, requirements, architectures, and allocations to hardware, software, and personnel components in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) context
  • Lead the coordination efforts between a range of engineering disciplines to define system functions and requirements related to system development and lifecycle engineering
  • Collaborate with safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialty engineering groups to ensure a well-balanced system design early in the lifecycle
  • Manage the development of systems engineering material such as System Concept of Operations, System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements, Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Plan, design, and develop lifecycle balanced system solutions for a highly complex system; allocate performance budgets and analyze system performance
  • Apply understanding of engineering processes to collaborate with Program Management and Engineering functions to support Customer needs     
  • Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
  • Lead analyses and trade study activities to optimize total system definition and architecture

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience do you have in systems, mechanical, electrical, or software engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience
  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Cameo, Rhapsody or other modeling tools

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
