Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer to work as a Systems/Business Architect within Customer Support Integration & Digital Systems. This position is located in Seal Beach, CA.

As an Architect within Customer Support Integration & Digital Systems, you will be supporting teams resolving large and complex problems regarding aircraft performance, reliability, maintenance, flight operations, and lifecycle cost. You will be able to combine the deep expertise and resources of the entire Boeing enterprise with the flexibility and fast pace of a small company setting. You will have opportunities to collaborate with people from all over the world while defining business requirements, data requirements, and integrations of complex digital systems.

This role will primarily focus on work related to BCA Customer Support, but will compliment other similar engineering teams within and across the broader enterprise. Similar roles based in Everett, WA, focused on new BCA Product Development (PD) programs, are also available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of Customer Support’s digital data architecture to meet current and future support needs, maximizing the value of digital data to deliver enhanced support. Engage with partners and stakeholders to design, integrate, test, and implement digital data solutions.
  • Develop business/reference architecture that can be shared and consumed by partners and stakeholders across program and business functions, which aligns with future state architectural capabilities.
  • Cross-train other organizations developing related architecture to further integrate the digital thread between engineering design, production, and support.

General Responsibilities

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
