The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity to join the Customer Relations team as a Meeting Planner and Customer Logistics Specialist, Customer Relations on our Boeing Commercial Airplanes team­­­­ based out of Seal Beach, California.

With guidance, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the planning, executing and fulfilling of logistical requirements for Boeing's customers as they engage in conferences, meetings, visits, and events.  This group is responsible for delivering world-class customer service to internal and external customers.  The ideal candidate is adaptive, resourceful, and able to work with globally diverse cultures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and coordination of selected customer and executive meetings, visits, events, and exhibit trade shows utilizing moderate knowledge of U.S. and foreign government regulations, international cultures and customs, and company policies and procedures to support strategic business objectives
  • Participate in meeting/event planning meetings and may coordinate some communications with internal and external business partners
  • Continually develop relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Collaborate with supervision, with business partners in determining date, location, time, participants/products and budget for events and engagements
  • Participate in developing and planning assignments of multi-disciplined teams (e.g., facilities, marketing/communications, graphics, security and transportation, etc.) to assist with creating and implementing event plans
  • Continuously collect, integrate and disseminate information to all stakeholders through various communication methods to ensure adherence to the plan
  • Schedule and coordinate logistics with limited direction
  • Broaden internal and external customer and supplier network
  • Implement logistics in accordance with company policies and procedures, branding compliance, business courtesies, protocol and U.S. and foreign government guidelines
  • Apply limited knowledge of customer's customs and cultures in all aspects of the visit/event and provides sound advice and recommendations
  • Participate as a member of the team to execute the agreed to plan and all logistical aspects of the meeting, visit, and/or event
  • Assist with providing on-site direction for meeting, visit, and/or event
  • Compare data to identify anomalies, such as invoice reconciliation and registration system data
  • Partner with Boeing Commercial Airplanes Customer Relations team members from other sites located in Washington, South Carolina, Illinois, and London

This position allows occasional telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform most work onsite in Seal Beach, California.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in a customer facing role engaging with internal or external customers
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel domestically as well as internationally
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years’ experience in organizing, planning and facilitating large scale events

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
