Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Hardware Subsystems Engineer (Level 4) to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) located in Seal Beach or El Segundo, CA.

ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is a very fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies. You will work with an experienced and diverse RF-Digital design team while also having the ability to work assignments autonomously. Position Responsibilities:

• Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

• Leads all aspects of the design and build of multiple satellite and avionics units.

• Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

• Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

• Responsible for leading the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

• Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

• Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

• Makes recommendations for technology investments.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Seal Beach or El Segundo, CA location.

This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

• 5 or more years of experience in RF/Microwave-engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.

• Experience with digital circuit design.

• Knowledge of FPGAs/ASICs

• Active security clearance

• Experience working in the Aerospace industry

• Experience leading and/or interested in mentoring others

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
