The Space Electronics Capability at The Boeing Company's Satellite Development Center in El Segundo, California is seeking dedicated and innovative Lead Test Systems Design Engineers (Level 4) to join the Space and Launch multidisciplinary team and whose area of expertise is in development of special test equipment design and test systems for RF, Power, and Digital units. This role will provide critical technical support to the diverse engineering staff and interacting with users of our test systems during different phases of product life cycle, from conceptual design through hardware delivery and sell-off. This position allows for multidisciplinary skill use including hardware and software development and integration, electronics design and validation, multi-system integration, and production support. Position Responsibilities: Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications. Designs, builds, and verifies custom special test equipment and interfaces for flight unit integration and test. Tests and validates unit- and subsystem-level designs to ensure product designs meet operational and functional requirements. Solves problems and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
This position allows part time telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at the El Segundo, CA location. This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. top secret clearance Post Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Eight (8) or more years' experience working in development of test systems Electrical Engineering degree ABET accreditation is preferred Active U.S. Security Clearance (SSBI or TS/SCI) Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
