Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) In-Space Vehicles Engineering, located in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Antenna RF & Array Engineer (Level 4).  As an Antenna RF & Array Engineer, you will work on satellite antenna/payload products and capabilities that help our customers to meet their mission requirements. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Antenna RF & Array Engineering position will have responsibility for all aspects of spacecraft antenna RF design, manufacture, assembly, test, and hardware certification.

  • Utilize thorough understanding of electromagnetic principles as related to antenna engineering

  • Demonstrate operational excellence within the antenna organization and be capable of leading a multi-disciplined technical team.

  • Work in spacecraft antenna analysis, design, test, associated ground architecture, and mission success engineering.

  • Actively identify strategic design solutions and champion trade studies.

  • Formulate solutions for shaped reflector and multibeam reflector based systems.

  • Demonstrate proficiency of Ansys HFSS and TICRA Antenna Analysis tools such as POS, CHAMP, and GRASP.

  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. Top secret/SCI clearance Post Start is required.

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 5 or more years’ experience in space based antenna system design, analysis, and test


Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:

  • Experience lead technical teams or projects

  • Experience managing customer relationships

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Technical M.S. degree in electrical engineering (with antenna/ electromagnetics emphasis)

  • Demonstrated experience (>8 years) with spacecraft antenna system design/analysis/test

  • Demonstrated experience as a Subject Matter Expert in antenna analysis tools such as Ticra (GRASP and POS), HFSS

  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles as related to space based applications

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
