The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Tax Project Manager to join the team in either Berkeley, MO, Chicago, IL, or Seattle, WA.

This role will report to senior management residing in St. Louis and will have frequent interaction with other teams, including the Federal and International tax teams located at Boeing’s offices in Chicago, Seattle, Europe and Australia.  It will also entail routine teaming with business personnel, financial/cost accountants and outside consultants. 

A successful candidate will have a solid corporate tax background.  The candidate must be highly motivated with a demonstrated understanding of tax law, the ability to manage multiple projects at one time and a willingness to learn new areas of tax.  Strong analytical, research and communication skills are required. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Calculate complex federal income tax adjustments in support of tax filings

  • Research complex federal and international issues to ensure proper tax return and financial reporting

  • Collaborate with senior tax management and corporate tax team members on federal income tax audits to work towards favorable resolutions

  • Develop and implement process efficiencies and solutions by utilizing technology tools such as Alteryx and Tableau

  • Effectively communicate complex tax concepts to a variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner

  • Build lasting relationships and partner with the business to anticipate and drive innovative solutions to create value

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field

  • 4+ years of corporate income tax experience

  • 4+ years analyzing/interpreting large volumes of data and presenting your findings to others

  • 4+ years with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of tax, accounting, or finance systems experience

  • Proficiency in analytics and visualization tools such as Alteryx and Tableau

  • Ability to effectively communicate highly complex concepts to a variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner

  • Understanding of the tax technology landscape with a demonstrated ability to convey complicated technology and data concepts to non-technical colleagues

  • Public accounting experience

  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems

  • Demonstrate learning agility and adaptability to change

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
