At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. From the seabed to outer space, you can contribute to work that matters with a company where diversity, equity and inclusion are shared values. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer-Analysis Liaison to join the Virtual Warfare Center team located in Berkley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems. We are engineers and technicians. Skilled scientists and thinkers. Bold innovators and dreamers. Join us, and you can build something better for yourself, for our customers and for the world.  At Boeing, we are all innovators on a mission to connect, protect, explore and inspire.  From the seabed to outer space, you’ll learn and grow, contributing to work that shapes the world.  Find your future with us!

As part of the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) core simulation software team, it is the job of the selected candidate to be a part of a team that creates tools/capabilities that support the warfighter for years to come.  Creating appropriate simulations and associated tools allows the warfighter to clearly relay capabilities to both our customers and Boeing internally.  The VWC has been the home for such support for nearly two decades.  The core simulation team is responsible for ensuring the proper level of fidelity models and calculations interact in both constructive (faster than real time simulations), as well as virtual (operator in the loop) simulations.  Working as a part of Phantom Works, there is regular interaction with the warfighter to ensure they have the tools they need to complete their mission.

This position acts as the primary interface between the Phantom Works analysis community and the simulation team at the VWC.  The community utilizes simulation software in new and creative ways on a daily basis which requires regular updates to the software and toolsets used.  Not only will the selected candidate develop new requirements from feedback of the community, but also work to resolve/complete said requirements as a part of the core simulation software group.

Strong communication and software skills are necessary in order to work both with analysts and software engineers to come up with appropriate solutions for the Phantom Works analysis community.  Familiarity with simulation software is highly desired including knowledge of government simulations such as AFSIM, NGTS, etc.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with software and analyst communities to understand current needs from both groups in terms of bug fixes or enhancement requests
  • This includes attending standups for the different teams that have tasks assigned to them as well as analyst groups where the tasks originate
  • Prioritize/delegate tasks to various scrum teams based on request information
  • Perform debugging/resolution of tasks that fall within learned expertise which will grow as exposure increases to different areas

We work in a casual but professional environment with multi-disciplined teams of engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions. There is long-term potential for career growth into technical leadership or management positions and we value the curiosity, tenacity and imagination our engineers bring to our teams each day.
