The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Versatile Technologist - Mid-level (Windows System Admin) to join the Training & Professional Services IT group in Hazelwood, Missouri.


A successful candidate will be an integral part of the Boeing Training & Professional Services team developing hardware and software solutions for our defense customers, you will support proprietary Statement-of-Work (SOW) including classified areas. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Provide comprehensive end-to-end computing support in closed environments from desktops to/and servers

  •  Provide broad range of basic systems and application support, patch management

  •  Administer user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements

  • Performs a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities

  • Installs, configures and maintains multi-platform systems hardware, software and components

  • Performs the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations

  • Integrates security solutions into information systems

  • Evaluate and effectively communicate complex system problems and resolutions

  • Provide on-site/in-person hardware installation, cabling, and configuration

  • Identifies computing requirements and confers on system needs

  • Ensures system conforms to architectural objectives

  • Build and maintain information systems that comply with Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide / Risk Management Framework (JSIG / RMF) security requirements

  • Integrate security solutions (McAfee, Splunk, HBSS) into information systems

  • Maintaining awareness of and participating in the planning and execution of upgrades and patches for operating systems and COTS software

  • Architect, install, and administer storage, backup, and network infrastructure needs

  • The candidate should possess the ability to communicate well at all levels (technical and non-technical)

  • Skills with developing training guides or knowledge management articles

  • Provide comprehensive computing support in isolated environments from the desktops to the servers

  • Provide broad range of basic systems and application support

  • Experience creating and maintain multiple virtual servers based on VMware

  • Evaluate and effectively communicate complex system problems and resolution

  • Integration of security solutions into information systems

  • Up to 30% Travel

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Hazelwood, MO location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

  • Provide comprehensive computing support in isolated environments from desktops to/and servers Experience

  • Troubleshoot operating system and installation problems

  • Experience with PowerShell scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems

  • CompTIA Security+ certified (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Windows Operating Systems: Familiarity with the full range of Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Server 2003-2016, Windows 7 and 10)

  • Active Directory (AD): Familiarity with maintaining/configuring AD to include applying domain group policies

  • VMware: Familiarity with a VMware virtual network environment.

  • Experience with NetApp Storage

  • Experience with Linux

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
