Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Supply Chain Engineering (SCE) is seeking a Senior Microelectronics Design and Analysis Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Berkeley, MO; Huntsville, AL; Ridley Park; PA; Mesa, AZ or Long Beach, CA.

As part of the BDS SCE team, you will lead cross-program supplier initiatives and support the BDS Divisions directly to solve supplier technical issues with the ultimate goal of improving quality, safety, and production stability. Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, business, and integration leadership to projects focused on improving supplier performance  
  • Develop and manage project statement of work (SOW)  
  • Plan, identify, and coordinate resources necessary to successfully complete project 
  • Manage scope and any changes to project baselines
  • Perform risk management including identification of opportunities in addition to risk mitigation 
  • Identify appropriate performance metrics and assess project performance to plan regularly
  • Represent the Engineering function as an active and knowledgeable team member with suppliers and other internal functions
  • Investigate, analyze, and recommend opportunities that drive quality improvement and production stability
  • Review, identify, and improve requirements that are unclear and at risk for misinterpretation at supplier(s)
  • Provide onsite Supplier Technical Assistance to support high impact recovery efforts
  • Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Export Control

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
  • 5+ years experience in Project Management for both small and large projects
  • 5+ years experience in a project engineering
  • 5+ years experience leading or managing multi-functional teams in Quality or continuous improvement initiatives
  • 5+ years experience working as an engineer on a multi-disciplined team with frequent interaction with suppliers and customers
  • 5+ years experience with the development of microelectronics and/or enabling technologies.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • 5+ experience leading, coaching and developing others (including those who are not your direct reports)
  • Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills.
  • 5+ years customer-facing, or equivalent, experience.

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
 

Relocation:
