The Boeing Commercial Airplanes, System’s Service Engineering (SSE) organization is currently seeking a Systems Service Engineering - Senior Integration Engineer to support the newly established SSE Integration team in Seal Beach, California.

System Service Engineering’s mission is to provide superior customer service every time. It encompasses a multi-skilled team working together as the recognized leader in providing Timely, Quality, Fully Integrated Customer Preferred Solutions through technical excellence, lean work processes and leadership.

The position requires the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment that involves cross functional / business unit coordination to perform primary responsibilities. This role will support efforts to integrate with other Customer Support organizations (Fleet Chief Office, Maintenance Engineering, Flight Operations, etc.), lead projects related to in-service fleet priorities, provide viable solutions, and ensure safe and economic operation of the Boeing fleet. This position includes both leadership, technical assignments, as well as some travel to support customer engagements.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts, develop creative solutions to product issues / processes, and inspire the team by championing forward-thinking and innovative solutions

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers

  • Project management and integration

  • Will help to oversee, execute, and bring back critical decisions/discussions to key stakeholders

  • Provides oversight to complex projects; integrating multiple stakeholders including interfacing engineering teams, quality, supplier management, and program management

  • Ability to take ownership & initiative, pull teams together, establish operating rhythm, remove roadblocks, and adapt within a very dynamic environment

  • Serves as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team. Capable of effectively triaging and de-escalating issues with impacted parties

  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers, and colleagues

  • Regularly presents status to senior engineering and program leadership

  • Performs project planning for multiple projects, develops and administers, schedules and performance standards

  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving

  • Foster and develop new ideas

  • Leads projects or initiatives at the direction of the organization to implement process and product improvements

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Work Authorization:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing teams.

  • An ABET accredited bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of work experience do you have leading or managing cross functional teams

  • 1+ years of experience interfacing directly with all of the following: suppliers, external customers, and program management

  • 1+ Experience working on commercial aircraft programs, such as the 7 Series Aircraft, and/or have design or analysis experience on large fixed wing aircraft.

  • Experience with developing and maintaining relationships/partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, along with motivating teams.

Typical Education/Experience: 

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master +3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
