Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for a Structural and Payload Design Engineer (Associate) join their team in Kennedy Space Center or Titusville, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support Boeing and NASA SLS, ISS and Starliner task as required

  • Perform 3D volumetric simulations to verify new designs, planning and operations

  • Help plan, coordinate and execute tasks requested by various customers

  • Operate 3D scanning and Tracking equipment in the field to satisfy customer requests

  • Ability to work in non-airconditioned areas such as the VAB, work at heights and capture data for post-processing and analysis

  • Ability to conduct meetings in TEAMS and F2F to discuss study results and finding to teams of your peers

  • Able to communicate well with different personalities

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3 years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)

  • Experience interpreting model based engineering or 2D engineering drawings to develop technical illustrations

  • Ability to lead scan/model planning efforts in support of tasks at various processing facilities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with CATIA, DELMIA, CREO, Realworks, GOM

  • Experience with 3D laser Scanners

  • Experience capturing and working with 3D point clouds

  • Experience with additive manufacturing

  • Familiarization with KSC and the various processing facilities

  • Experience planning tasks, leading teams, performing safety pre-task briefings

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
