Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principle Power and Analog Electrical Design Engineer to join us as part of our power electronics team in El Segundo, CA. This position requires a specialization in Power Supply and Analog Circuit Design for space-qualified electronics. As part of Boeing's Space & Missile Systems division, Satellite Systems manages the company's major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense and other missions. Satellite Systems oversees the design, development, manufacture, integration and testing of satellites. Position Responsibilities - Lead Design and development of state-of-the art electronics for space-based applications
- Duties will include circuit design, requirements and interface definition, modeling and analysis, testing, performance and design verification – with emphasis on Power Supply and Analog Circuit Design
- Technical support for production and test of space-qualified electronics
- Power conditioning electronics, control system design and theory
- Work supporting satellite communications systems
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) - Possess a Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- 15 or more years of experience with analog power electronics
- 15 or more years of experience with power supply circuitry
- 15 or more years of experience designing with Power Electronics and Analog Circuits
- 15 or more years of experience in the development of test system requirements and verification methodologies
- 6 or more years of experience mentoring entry level engineers
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) - Experience Space and Launch industry
- Experience with electronics circuit design, product design and manufacturing spanning Computing, Power, and Control Electronics for spaceborne applications
Typical Education/Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
