The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Boeing Secure Computing Solutions group located in Pleasanton, CA or St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system

  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards

  • Works under minimal direction

Working alongside the software and VLSI teams you will help develop and deliver high quality mission critical software for Boeing’s custom processor solutions.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)

  • Experience developing and debugging software using high level programming languages (C, C++)

  • Experience developing and debugging software for embedded systems

  • Experience with bug tracking and source control systems

  • Experience with embedded operating systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience developing embedded software for ARM processors

  • Familiarity with computer/information security principles

  • Familiarity with Intel Processor Architectures

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's with 12 or more years' experience, or Master's with 10 or more years’ experience. Bachelor, Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
