The Boeing Company’s Space and Intelligence program is currently seeking a Sr. IT Chief Infrastructure Architect to join our team in one of the various locations: El Segundo, CA; Tukwila, WA; Annapolis Junction, MD.  This position will have an opportunity to define the future strategy of our IT systems and provide technical leadership to a multi-disciplined and talented team of IT professionals. 

Job Description:

Defines requirements, design and verify highly-advanced architecture, data and information management systems and components. Provides consultation on design constraints. Participates in industry-wide standards specifications for architectural formats and modeling standards. Provides expert consultation on the feasibility of architecture solutions and alternatives. Consults on trade-off analyses. Evaluates products to assess suitability for integration into delivery system environments. Drafts data and information management products and service standards. Assesses impact of architectural decisions to product lifecycle. Contributes to industry standards for architecture and data/information management. Coaches and mentors’ others.  Evaluates industry trends and emerging technologies to determine strategic vision for delivery systems in an environment that consists of multiple sites and networks with servers and High-Performance Computing Clusters running Red Hat Linux in various locations around the U.S. and growing.  Future expansion will include WNDRVR VxWorks embedded Linux operation system.  Linux and Windows servers host engineering applications such as Cadence, Atlassian, DOORS, Citrix, Cameo, and Github.  Environment includes Windows PCs and thin clients with a strong desire to leverage virtual desktop solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy IT systems on a distributed network spanning multiple locations. Deploy state-of-the art solutions with automation to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership during the design and implementation of new and upgraded systems.  Provide mentoring and training to the multi-disciplined IT team.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and document business requirements.
  • Develop roadmaps in support of business requirements and IT technology best practices.
  • Develop solutions that are compliant with Government and Boeing Information Security requirements.
  • Identify opportunities and solutions for improving system performance and health.
  • Use roadmaps to work with business management to develop IT budgetary plans. 
  • Solve complex problems in partnership with a large and diverse IT team.    Troubleshoot and fix critical issues. 

This position will be 100% on site

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/Sensitive Compartment Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

  • This position requires employees are RMF compliant with a Security+ certificate
  • 10+ years of experience with Windows, Linux, and virtual platforms with a focus on deploying, configuring, testing and troubleshooting
  • 10+ years of experience with OS-level Network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Good knowledge on enterprise server and storage platforms, including HPE ProLiant, HPE Synergy, Dell PowerEdge, and Dell Unity systems.
  • 10+ years in Infrastructure or Enterprise Architecture level roles
  • 15+ years of experience with hand on technical implementation experience of IT infrastructure projects

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • U.S. Top Secret/Sensitive Compartment Information (TS/SCI) with Full Scope Poly.
  • Multi-site and region network design and performance
  • Server virtualization
  • Data protection
  • Data replication
  • Citrix and virtual desktop design and use
  • Multi-site application architecture and data protection
  • Multi-site data base design
  • Data recovery and disaster protection planning
  • Familiarity with a VMware virtual network environment.
  • Experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware 
  • Knowledge of operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Windows and gateway software, as well as computing security tools (e.g., firewalls, web security techniques, encryption techniques).
  • Knowledge of different IT disciplines (e.g., infrastructure, information, application, security, system management, system integration)
  • Develop PowerShell and Linux scripts to enable consistent, high-quality integration of hardware assets
  • Experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies
  • Experience with a broad range of basic systems and application support
  • Experience evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problems and resolution
  • Experience with System Backups, Network switch configuration,
  • 10+ or more years’ experience managing closed networks.
  • Build and maintain information systems that comply with Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide / Risk Management Framework (JSIG / RMF) security requirements
  • Experience with Data Center consolidation, Data Center Migration, Server Virtualization
  • Experience with Network Modeling, logging and monitoring
  • Experience with Network security including designing, creating, and maintaining the security systems within an organization's IT network, including the computer systems and data

Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).
