Boeing Commercial Airplanes has an exciting opportunity for Boring Mill Operators to join our team in Portland, OR.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Completely and independently set up, operate, adjust, etc., assigned boring machines (such as Lucas, DeVlieg, or "G & L" types) to rough out and finish machine to quality requirements and specifications any assigned boring requiring the coordination of hole tolerances in more than two planes and surfaces.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Capable of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 35 pounds

  • 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints

  • 5+ years of experience with using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc.

  • 3+ years of experience setting-up and operating CNC Mills and Lathes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • High School diploma or GED preferred

  • 5+ years of machinist experience

Typical Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:

This position is for 2nd shift.

Other Relevant Information & Requirements:

  • This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.
