The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Seattle, WA.

The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Software Engineers in developing and maintain our software systems and tools that are used to test and certify our airplanes, ensuring the safety of our products. Our products span all aspects of Flight Testing, from pre-flight test configuration and setup, data acquisition and recording, data processing and visualization, and post-test data analytics.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of engineering employees responsible for developing and maintaining our software systems and tools used to perform Flight Testing

  • Be accountable for the work done in your agile development teams, helping to drive the software delivery performance of your teams

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and motivation to combine the team’s energy and expertise to achieve a common objective

  • Develop and maintains relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, business partners, peers, and direct reports

  • Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, staffing plans, metrics and performance measures

  • Strive to continuously improve existing processes and frameworks

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, electrical/electronics, aerospace, computer science, mathematics, or physics

  • 3+ years of experience in a leading or managing cross-functional or cross-organizational teams within engineering and/or test

  • 3+ years of experience in software development and/or in an integration testing environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience leading teams in a technical environment

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies

  • Experience working in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment

  • Project Management experience in a technical environment
