The Boeing Commercial Crew team is currently seeking a highly qualified Mid-Level Software Engineer (Level 3) to be part of our Flight Software Integration team.  This position is located in Houston, Texas.

A successful candidate will work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently. Must possess good communication skills, both oral and written; technical leadership skills highly desired. Experience in leading Technical Exchange Meetings in efforts to support system test preparation and execution; prior hardware/ software real-time system integration and testing is required.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the assigned testing of systems, including functional testing of new requirements, code changes, regression, and operational testing. 

  • Develop effective integration test procedures and scripts/scenarios for required tests

  • Perform system, regression, user acceptance, integration, and performance testing to ensure delivery of high-quality systems.

  • Analyze “real-time” data and document failures/defects during test execution.

  • Assess post-test data analysis, prepare test execution results, and report test result status.

  • Help improve data and simulation knowledge tools, scripts/scenarios automation, and applications.

  • Provide technical consultancy and innovation to internal and external flight software stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with different teams in order to meet Integration Testing Goals.

  • Perform process engineering and continuous improvement activities.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree

  • 3+ Yrs Experience with flight hardware/software integration and simulations

  • Proficient in C/C++ and embedded real-time programming

  • Experience with script development, such as perl, shell, python or tcl tk.

  • Proficient with MIL-STD-1553B and RS422

  • Working experience with Computer network concepts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Agile development practices

  • Previous technical experience in an aerospace environment

  • Proficiency in systems integration and testing

  • Self-motivated problem solver, capable of taking initiative with minimal instruction; comfortable jumping in as needed to support the program

  • Able to problem solve in a clear and concise manner

  • Possesses strong communication skills Demonstrated collaborative style, with ability to work with diverse teams

  • Experience in anomaly troubleshooting and fault management

  • Experience with 1553 Bus Analyzer

  • Experience working in a heterogeneous platforms test environment (HW/OS - Linux, Windows, Embedded OS)

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
