The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Electrical & Electronics Technical Design Engineer (Level 4) to be located in El Segundo, CA. As part of Boeing's Space & Missile Systems division, Satellite Systems manages the company's major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense and other missions. Satellite Systems oversees the design, development, manufacture, integration and testing of satellites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead verification and test activities for radio frequency, microwave, and millimeter wave electronics for space-based communication systems, including frequency converters, solid state power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers and transponders.

  • Perform requirements and interface definition, design for test, hands-on testing, performance and design verification, for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components.

  • Coordinates activities and products with cross-functional groups, internal partners and external suppliers to achieve defined production goals.

  • Teach/mentor junior engineers and technicians on making RF/microwave/millimeter wave test measurements and review test results.

  • Reviews and approves data. Reviews and assigns work to others.

  • Support production and resolve anomalies that occur during integration and test

  • Develops procedures and supplemental documentation to support production of flight and non-flight product designs.

  • Uses design and configuration management tools to audit, document and/or maintain configuration control of development processes, design tools and electronics facilities.

  • Proposes innovative solutions for emergent technical, risk and engineering workflow issues.

  • Works under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed El Segundo, CA location.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Technical diploma, Associate's degree or higher in a related technical discipline.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience using Microsoft office products.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel (formulas, charts, building worksheets).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • RF Amplifier knowledge, basic designing, tuning and testing

  • Experience with test and measurement equipment (Analyzers, generators, Oscilloscopes, temperature chambers)

  • RF electronics test experience.

  • Experience leading a team of engineers and technicians.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).
