The Boeing Company (“Boeing”) is seeking a Mid-Level Paralegal to join the Law Department within the Law and Global Compliance organization.

This paralegal position will provide support to the Senior Program and Intellectual Property Attorneys and Site Leads supporting Phantom Works, Autonomous Systems, International, Vertical Lift, the Mobility and Surveillance, Bombers and Fighters, and Missile and Weapon Systems division of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) in the Boeing Saint Louis practice group. This position can be based in Berkeley, Missouri or Hazelwood, Missouri.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding people skills and the ability to work with a wide range of personalities and practice groups via telephone, e-mail, and in-person contact; be a team player; and have a combination of persistence and a capability to navigate through multiple layers of a complex organization like Boeing. The selected individual will also exercise sound judgment, experience with a high-volume caseload, and a desire to keep learning in an ever-changing environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with in-house counsel, senior paralegals, and company personnel to assist in reviewing Proprietary Information Agreements (PIAs), contractor agreements and proposals, Open Source Software requests, and Contract Closeout requests

  • Review and certify Contract Closeout Release documents as a Boeing Assistant Secretary

  • Perform anti-corruption due diligence reviews of funding requests involving international non-profit entities

  • Assist Senior Counsel in providing guidance to company personnel on international business courtesy matters

  • Conduct information integrity investigations, and assist company personnel and in-house counsel responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests

  • Conduct FCPA due diligence reviews of international entities partnering with Boeing on Non-Sales Agreements

  • Assist Senior Counsel with the anti-corruption due diligence review of International Sales Consultants

  • Perform and analyzes legal and factual research and writing utilizing specialized software (e.g., Lexis Advance, Court Link, Westlaw, Pacer), the internet, and other applications; analyzing the results of research, and drafting legal memoranda assessing, among other things, the merits and respective risks and opportunities with different approaches for attorney review

  • Assist Senior Counsel in reviewing supplier contracts

  • Assist with internal investigations and litigation including conducting witness interviews, maintaining case documents, researching facts, coordinating with onsite and offsite participants, performing follow-up, and preparing summaries and issue memoranda

  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to convey, obtain, and exchange information with individuals at all levels and from various backgrounds

  • Self-motivated, cooperative, capable of meeting deadlines, organized, and process and detail-oriented

  • Work well in a team environment with colleagues and clients spread across multiple time zones

  • Perform team and/or department-orientated tasks, projects, and activities as assigned

  • Work independently and handle given assignments with minimal oversight by attorneys and/or lead paralegals

  • Travel locally as needed

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in either a law firm, corporate law department, or government legal setting

  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Applications

  • 3+ years of experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contractual agreements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s or paralegal degree from an accredited university

  • Experience with federal acquisition law

  • Proficiency with SharePoint set-up, WebEx set up and records management systems

  • Experience in the handling and safeguarding of proprietary and confidential information also preferred with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Cooperative, positive, team-oriented attitude

  • Willing and able to work overtime if needed

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
