Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Interiors Structural/Mechanical Certification Engineer to join our Interiors South Carolina (I.S.C.) team based in North Charleston, SC.

In this role, you will work with our interior certification team to review engineering definitions to ensure compliance with FAA regulations. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to review all engineering changes and compliance documentation to ensure their compliance with 14 CFR Part 25. You will be able to combine the expertise and resources of the Interiors organization to deliver the best interior products within the industry.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and review of engineering drawings, reports, analyses, communication, and data to ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Coordinate all aspects of the certification process with the FAA and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide guidance on FAA regulations.
  • Ability to communicate professionally across multiple organizations and/or throughout all levels of leadership.
  • Works under minimal direction.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or other technical degrees.
  • 5+ years of experience in program and/or project management.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design criteria, and engineering release processes.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically
  • 10+ years of experience with 3D modeling
  • Working knowledge of standard business software (MS Office Suite)
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development
  • Ability to meet plan delivery deadlines when assigned
  • Strong aptitude and a demonstrated performance implementing and sustaining project management best practices
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and EASA equivalent.
  • Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences

Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
