The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer located in New Orleans, LA.  The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Leads Area Readiness Reviews.

  • Leads First Production area start up.

  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.

  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.

  • Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build. Leads and implements manufacturing plans.

  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.

  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.

  • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions. Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.

  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implements lean principles and technologies.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an ABET accredited program in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in multiple Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and/or Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) applications (e.g. Mastercam, CATIA V5, Unigraphics, etc.).

  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience developing solutions to a variety of complex tooling problems and creating appropriate solutions using established organization practices and procedures.

  • Experience navigating Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci) (or similar application) for retrieving work instructions, tool design and rework orders, and NCRs.

Typical Education/Experience :

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
