Boeing Space and Launch organization is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Leader for Senior Program Management Specialist for Hardware & Software Integration (HSI) leadership. This position is located in Tukwila, WA.

This program leadership position reports directly to the Program Manager, and is responsible for the integration of all hardware/software/firmware across a multi-segment space system. The role leads and manages a multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the coordination and development of Hardware & Software Integration to achieve first time quality in system software development and delivery through end-to-end integration of hardware and software design, test, verification and validation.  The position requires exceptional program management skills in order to successfully interact with program manager level counterparts across the program including the customer program office, subcontractors, user groups, and government oversight contractors.

The position requires domain knowledge in space systems and development experience in software integrated into hardware elements. Other key capabilities include clear and concise, written and oral communication of complex subjects to Boeing Executive leadership and at all levels of customer engagement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Will be accountable for a cross-discipline IPT.

  • Responsible for the IPT execution, delivery on cost and schedule commitments, and technical management of products from the development, integration, test and delivery of a collection of activities.

  • Responsible for system level software development plan.  Overseeing software development for system level, flight control software, and ground simulator software including the development of software to software interfaces for hardware and software integration.

  • Responsible for development of system test beds and software testing on system test beds used in verification of requirements

  • Accountability includes customer satisfaction, mission success, program execution and performance against company financial objectives.

  • Responsibilities include development of strong customer relationships with senior government officials, driving performance improvement through the application of Agile principles and program management best practices.

  • In partnership with Supply Chain and Program Leadership, negotiating and working with numerous small and large subcontractors

  • Coordinating program staffing needs with Boeing Engineering Capabilities and functions.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Top Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 5+ years of experience in a hardware or software development environment

  • 3+ years of experience in hardware and software integration

  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing cross-functional or cross-organizational teams within engineering and/or test

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)

  • Experience with system integration (hardware, firmware, software)

  • Experience in Satellite or Space Programs

  • Experience interfacing with suppliers

  • Experience in the implementation and use of Program Management Best Practices

  • Experience in the implementation of Agile software development

  • Experience with leadership role in system level test design and execution

  • Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external) and government customers and representatives

  • Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 12 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+8 years' related work experience, Master+10 years' related work experience, 12 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
