The Weapons & Missile Systems (WMS) organization in St Charles, MO is seeking a dynamic Senior Engineering Manager (Level M) for the Weapons Engineering Team. 

This position is responsible for managing the engineering capability oversight of the Engineering Team in support of CMS and DA programs and position responsibilities may include:

  • Engineering, including both direct report personnel and loaned-in Engineering disciplines

  • Mission Systems development and delivery

  • Platform Integration supporting all aspects of Physical / Electrical integration of weapons to launch platforms (surface, sea, and air).

  • Platform Systems support including both direct report electrical wiring and energetics personnel as well as loaned-in disciplines such as thermal analysis

  • Hardware in the Loop (HIL) verification capability providing personnel and facilities/equipment

  • Weapon Simulator development and delivery

  • Project Engineering in support of Program Managers and International Customers

If selected, major position responsibilities may include:

  • Perform as the senior Capability Manager in support of the MWS Engineering, for the St. Charles, Missouri, Cruise Missile Systems (CMS)/Direct Attack (DA) programs.

  • Perform as the MWS Engineering focal, across Weapons CMS/DA capabilities, for MX Overhead engagement, MWS MBE/MBSE, TLE, and Design Practices imperatives. 

  • Facilitate staffing, and consolidated out-of-sequence salary adjustment/promotion reviews across Weapons engineering.

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in all aspects of Engineering SEIT responsibilities.

  • Develops and executes integrated plans, policies and procedures and provides input on strategies, goals, and objectives.

  • Acquires resources for Program activities and leads process improvements.  

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Provides regular interface to MWS Capability Leaders, Weapons Program Management, Program Chief Engineers, Program Teams, and Program Customers.

  • Provides management and oversight of staffing levels, performance evaluations, performance development and career counseling.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work as needed onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance that has been updated within the last 8 years (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)  Applicants must include their Security Clearance Level, Investigation Type, and Investigation Date clearly on their resume.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • A Bachelor of Science degree or greater.  Preferred degrees include electrical engineering, computer science, aerospace, systems engineering, engineering management, industrial engineering mechanical engineering, mathematics, physics, or similar scientific or engineering fields of study.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading (formal and/or informal) cross-functional engineering teams.

    Minimum of 5 years of execution and technical leadership on production and development programs.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Master of Science degree in an engineering field of study.

  • Experience with process definition and improvement initiatives, including MBE/MBSE.

  • Experience presenting to program leaders and to customers.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
