This individual will assist in the capture of new business for advanced MILSATCOM for Government Satellite Systems, this includes acquisitions for both the US government and internationally. The Business Development Representative (level 3) will be assist in the sales and campaign activities as a in accordance with the Boeing Integrated Business Acquisition Process (IBAP). This position will be located in El Segundo, CA

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the acquisition business process by identifying customer needs, understanding customer acquisition processes and budget cycles.  Candidate will participate/lead capture activities.
  • Supports the approval process by contributing to the development of documentation and data to obtain necessary management approvals.
  • Consolidates information in necessary documents to clarify understanding of the business opportunities and arrangements for internal negotiation team.
  • Supports sales and campaign activities by contributing to the development of strategies and tactics with guidance.
  • Leverages company resources to support customer commitments, gain a competitive advantage and foster business growth by developing a general understanding of Boeing products and services, process and operations and resources.
  • Researches, reviews and analyzes information about competitors' products and services to develop a general understanding of competitor activities and improve our competitive position.
  • Captures and documents general information related to customer business, culture, issues and concerns, requirements, and economic and environmental influences by researching available resources, web-sites and publications.
  • Assists in the interface with the customer and internal Boeing resources to keep both apprised of key issues and concerns.
  • Assists in the development of customer solutions by performing analysis of customer needs and available resources for specific products and solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Evaluates alternatives and makes recommendations to the internal team.
  • Assists in the preparation of management review materials.
  • Assists in the preparation of internal presentations and supporting material.
  • Supports preparation of proposals by contributing to the development of statement of work, cost estimates and pricing to ensure customer requirements are addressed.
  • Ensures proposal compliance at a detailed level.
  • Gathers and compiles strategic information into a consolidated package to facilitate the development of strategy and tactics with guidance.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with space, launch vehicle, satellite programs or other complex systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with Military or DoD customers
  • Experience in supporting proposals
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiar with the Government (political) / Defense Requirements and Acquisition processes
  • An Active U.S. Security Clearance

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
