The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Facilities Plant Electrical Engineer (Level 2) to join the team in Ridley Park, PA

Position Requirements:

  • Develops routine conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the electrical phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds.

  • Aligns electrical designs with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials.

  • Assists others to integrate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies.

  • Develops basic, routine analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.).

  • Ensures accuracy of drawing archives/libraries by reviewing contractor redlines. Identifies errors and documents construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements and facility standards

  • Supports or manages construction projects by providing input on vendor selection; reviews contractor proposals; interfaces with government/regulatory agencies; monitors project progress and vendor/consultant performance. Prepares and presents project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectives.

  • Uses appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters. Translates customer requirements into design options with documents and estimates. Identifies appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology.

  • Provides input to infrastructure planning; completes studies; analyzes current conditions and future requirements; recommends capital improvements; gathers and analyzes data; and works with customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Ridley Park, PA location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year of experience reading and interpreting technical documents and/or drawings

  • 1+ year of experience working in a facilities organization

  • 1+ year of experience managing multiple projects

  • 1+ year of experience with and/or managing contractors, subcontractors or suppliers

  • 1+ year of experience in tracking and analyzing fluctuation of costs to ensure accurate forecasting

  • 1 + year of experience using Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Software Systems

  • 1+ year of experience providing status reports for projects

  • Experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
