The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Test & Evaluation Engineer (Environmental Testing) to join our team in Kent, WA.  Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) verifies and validates the company’s products and services, ensuring they operate as designed and meet the rigorous requirements of regulatory agencies and Boeing customers.  The Advanced Environments Laboratory (AEL) specializes in environmental testing, simulating both earth and space environments. In the AEL, you will be supporting development of new test systems with an emphasis on experimental testing with vacuum, cryogenics, fluid, and pneumatic systems, as well as custom one-of-a-kind test setups.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and verification of test methods

  • Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan

  • Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements

  • Uses analytical tools to verify the design

  • Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements

  • Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer

  • Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements

  • Presents test results internally

  • Archives data and reports

  • Trains others

  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience in electrical engineering and/or mechanical engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working in a lab test or similar test environment

  • Experience with engineering data acquisition and related software including Lab View

  • Experience with CATIA

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
