Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Supplier Diversity Specialist to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, AL, Hazelwood, MO, Berkeley, MO, El Segundo, CA, Seal Beach, CA, Chantilly, VA, Fairfax, VA or Houston, TX.

The selected candidate will oversee Boeing Small Business commitments, which will include deployment of supplier diversity subcontract plans, program initiatives, and targets to ensure integration of small and diverse suppliers throughout the Boeing Supply Chain. The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for managing small business activity within Boeing Defense Space and Security.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes supply base, assesses utilization gaps and supports outreach efforts to identify potential suppliers.
  • Assists with establishing mentoring relationships with key suppliers in partnership with supplier quality and supplier development organizations.
  • Provides support as directed to special interest groups whose purpose is to foster opportunities for diverse suppliers.
  • Answers routine questions from diverse suppliers regarding company policies and procedures and other resources.
  • Collects information and reports regarding changes and updates to federal regulations and laws.
  • Assists with internal and external reviews and audits.
  • Assists with the development of corrective action plans as needed by collecting data and preparing reports.
  • Verifies size standards and certifications of diverse suppliers information.
  • Tracks performance to milestone schedules and goals and produces standard metrics and other reports used to manage project and program performance.
  • Provides data to support the development of corrective action plans.
  • Gathers information for written and verbal reports for business unit, functional, customer and supplier diversity management reviews.
  • Collects information for analysis by extracting data from various databases and other sources, for analyses by higher level team members.
  • Develops simple ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Populates standard reports.
  • Performs analyses of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Gathers data and performs simple analyses for use in forecasts, projections, and goals for comprehensive and individual subcontracting plans for various business units and external government and commercial customers.
  • Prepares and maintains materials used in training and various meetings with integration teams, advocacy councils and personnel involved in the supply chain on supplier diversity processes, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Records and maintains minutes from meetings with integration teams and advocacy councils.
  • Makes limited presentations to designated audiences.
  • Enters and retrieves data from appropriate databases, performs limited analyses and coordinates information with strategic sourcing team and other supply chain personnel.
  • Supports proposals by gathering data and providing standard small business contract language.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with cost proposal preparation on government contracts.
  • Experience with proposal development and contract negotiations.
  • Experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations).
  • Experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience preparing reports in support of data analysis.
  • Experience working with analytics, data and spreadsheets to build presentations and make recommendations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Experience in supplier management or supply chain management.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Experience working with U.S. Department of Defense contracts.
  • Experience in program management within supplier management.
  • Experience working with suppliers in a technical capacity.

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically 3 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $67,750 - $87,750
